Good location and low priced rentals. The only complaints I have are that, especially since it is all automated and no employees are on site (The majority of the time at least. I personally have never seen anyone there when I have gone), it should have 24 hour access; and customers should be able to set their own gate access code instead of having one assigned so it is easier to remember. (Edit: Apparently they either changed policies or I finally got someone on the phone who wanted to help and was able to change my gate code. Either way, that eliminates one complaint. Now how about 24/7 access?)

I would like to give a better rating because the staff is friendly, and the storage space is enormous for the price when you compare. But I have had this unit for a month and have never been able to get through the gate with my PIN. And 3 of the 4 visits I’ve made, not even the office staff were able to supply a code to get me into the compound. So the last visit I made, I decided to call ahead of time to assure I would not have this same experience. I was reassured that the PIN situation had been handled. I was even told they could see where a request had been submitted to evaluate what was going on with the gate and why my pin was not being recognized. ” I live about 20 miles away, mind you”. So I make my way up there just to be denied access with my code again… I want this situation resolved so I can leave a 5-Star review, but, at the moment I have just been getting the run around. I hope someone from Otter see’s this and reaches out to help because this storage is absolutely vital at this time in my life…

I don’t understand this why is the prices keep jumping up aint like you’re all there to look out for the folk stuff. I know I will be looking for another Storage place. Otter has permanently locked the entry door to the NE quadrant of the building making access to my storage unit in that area difficult for me, a 79-year-old male who now has to use a door considerably farther away from my unit. Often what I have to store is heavy and bulky but, Otter in its wisdom, has seen fit to reduce the number of hand carts to one and more often than not, that one cart can’t be found near the entry so I have to carry theses items to my unit which is now more than twice the distance i used to have to traverse and without a cart. The only reason I continue to u se the unit is because it is within 5 minutes of my house. Originally, my rent was $55/m…several years ago. Recently Otter has raised the rent to almost $100 including inconveniences. On May 18th I responded to this same request with an email to he manager from whom I still haven’t heard.

Officers said my unit was noted as being broken into 2 weeks beforehand by another renter and when they reached out to otter to inform me they never reached out. Do not rent from here. Most 5 star reviews look purchased as the layout is the same.

However, I am a victim and I’m leaving this review. If you got a storage now…you may want to keep a eye on your things….they are doing bad business now. They steal your things then say file a report, then call your insurance . It’s a non emergency so you won’t get any help and they know that. STAY AWAY FROM OTTER SELF STORAGE. I’ve had my storage unit here for almost 2 years. Never EVER late on a payment. I received a phone call that my unit was somehow not secured all of a sudden. Purchased a new lock and came back a few months later and miraculously there is a different lock that the company put on it but never received a call this time. Well, this time my storage looked like someone ransacked it! Since I knew not to put valuables in it, never thought someone would steal anything. To my surprise all my collection of shoes have disappeared. Who steals shoes! I’m so disappointed at the lack of security I thought I had been paying for all this time. IVE COLLECTED THOSE SHOES FOR YEARS AND THEY CAN’T BE REPLACED. I definitely will be working on finding somewhere else to store my belongings that appreciate the hard earned money I spend ON TIME I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE ANY LONGER STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Id suggest finding another storage place because you won’t get any help. They are CONTACTLESS so there’s not ever anyone there. People follow you in. Fences have been cut before. If you do rent from here get a camera for your protection. These theifs have no remorse they stole our kids old school work (drawings, picturesque awards. Lots of sentimental items. Worst place to store you stuff. My storage was broken into and I lost over 4 grad of my stuff; tools, tvs, home appliances and etc. I tried multiple times to go in and check on my stuff through out a 2 month period and every single time the gate was broke or my password wouldn’t go through. There is only two cameras and both point at the gate and that’s it. There we multiple break ins and I was never notified about it so I didn’t know to check on my stuff. Will the price might look good but I guarantee you’re going to get ripped off and your stuff stole. I’ve also tried multiple times to reach out to the heads of the company to resolve my issues and every time I’ve been ignored. These people do not care about your stuff, just your money.

DO NOT do business with this company. I arranged storage for my semi truck to be parked here for a week and gave them a week notice in advance when I would be leaving. Then called them when I had left. They still charged me for the next month’s rent. I called and spoke to an agent to issue a refund and they claimed that I never called or gave notice and will have to wait 5 to 7 business days for the refund to post. Now 7 business days later and they tell me a supervisor was supposed to approve and had never got to it!? I have to wait an additional 3-5 days. Very interesting how the time for a refund changed as well. Another problem the code I set up to get into the facility never worked and had to use a bypass code every time. Very disorganized and unprofessional
